What changed

The 2026 numbers that move your margin.

Four rates worth re-checking before you reprice a listing this quarter.

13.6%

eBay final value fee

Most categories, up to $7,500 per item, plus $0.40 per order. Fee applies to shipping and sales tax too.

6.5%

Etsy transaction fee

Plus 3% + $0.25 processing and a $0.20 listing fee. Offsite Ads adds 12% or 15% when it applies.

3.5%

Amazon FBA fuel surcharge

A 2026 surcharge on top of every FBA fulfillment fee in the US, Canada, and remote fulfillment.

2.9%

Shopify Basic processing

Plus 30¢ per online sale with Shopify Payments. Third-party gateways add another 2% on Basic.

Rates are US defaults for the most common case. Category exceptions, store subscriptions, and account-level pricing can change the result. How we calculate →

Why this exists

Most fee calculators stop at the headline rate.

That is where the expensive mistakes start. eBay charges its percentage on shipping and sales tax. Etsy stacks three fees. Amazon adds fulfillment, storage, and a fuel surcharge. Shopify has a monthly plan hiding behind a per-sale rate.

FeeNook models the whole stack, shows every line, and lets you override any assumption. No black box, no “contact us for pricing.”

3

Price with the payout, not the price

Use the break-even number to set a listing price that still leaves the margin you want.

Questions

Short answers, before you list.

Are these calculators free?
Yes. Every calculator is free, requires no signup, and runs in your browser. We may earn a commission if you choose a recommended seller tool through an affiliate link, but that never changes the fee math.
How current are the fee tables?
The core fee tables were checked against platform fee pages in November 2026. Platforms change rates without much notice, so every calculator lets you override the rate and every guide shows the date it was reviewed.
Why does eBay charge a fee on shipping and sales tax?
eBay calculates its final value fee on the total amount of the sale, which includes the item price, shipping charged to the buyer, handling, and sales tax. That is why “free shipping” does not avoid the fee on shipping.
Does Amazon FBA really take 50%?
Sometimes, on low-price or bulky items. Referral fees are usually 15%, then fulfillment, storage, inbound, and the 2026 fuel surcharge stack on top. On a $25 item, mandatory fees can approach 30–45%. The calculator shows each line so you can see where it goes.
Should I use Shopify or a marketplace?
Shopify has lower per-sale fees but you pay a monthly plan and you bring the traffic. Marketplaces charge more per sale but bring buyers. The comparison tool shows the break-even so you can price the trade-off instead of guessing.
